Correspondence with Conservationist Organisations

Over the years the Campaign has exchanged open letters with conservation organisations.

One set of correspondence took place with the Bombay Natural History Society and three other organisations, who had challenged the 2006 Wild Life (Protection) Amendment (see Tiger Conservation) in court. A second set took place in October 2007 with an organisation called Vanashakti which was opposing the Forest Rights Act. For the first and only time in India’s history, TV ads were run against a proposed legislation. These ads were organised by Vanashakti.
